Is the rise of the metrosexual male some kind of triumph for consumerism? And why have men finally bought into it?
Are men's insecurities about their appearance being created and exploited? Just like women before them?abtuvurys 2005
It is just another means of explotation of the sheeple by big business manipulation of pop culture.
Beleive whatever you wantto, but if you follow the dollar, that is where it goes...

Could have something to do with the way advertising has been targeted toward men recently.
Anything that sells is fair game as far as the ad idiots go.
I haven't bought into it, but yes, insecurities about the way we look are being exploited today. Our culture is very stupid and superficial about some things, looks being one of them. It's sad.
pshhh, typical for feminists to like to see men being exploited just so they can seek sexual gratification.
yes, if you ask me, men now have to worry about their appearance much more than women. women are so into these childish looking metro sexuals that they write off all other guys as ugly.
pretty soon we'll start seeing more guys wearing wigs, suffering from eating disorders, waxing their body hair, and getting plastic surgury. and feminists will love it.
Playerish men are all bisexual, so they found it all too easy to make the jump to metrosexual. Metrosexuality is very liberating and natural for men like David Beckham for example. The rise of the metrosexual is more of a reflection of the narrowing gap in status between men and women in society, rather than a triumph of consumerism. Although I do agree that business wins here; business is not the driving force behind this change.
because finally the stigma about being mistaken for gay is no longer a taboo so meterosexual can now come out of the closet and proudly embrace their love for looking good. Nope, not a commercial thing. Some men just like to look hot and sexy too
The guy singing this is a metrosexual if that answers your question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3khTntOxX...
I think you're on to something here...insecurity is something taught to us, not bred into us.
